　　I write this email to commend Liu Ayi on her excellent performance and her sense of professionalism. When Liu Ahyi joined us, I was desperate for a helper because I had just given birth and my confinement nanny had to cut short her employment due to family matters. I didn’t have a good impression of Liu Ahyi at first because she spoke very loudly on the phone. To be perfectly honest, I was actually ready to replace her once I completed my confinement. But somehow, as time passed, she really changed my mind. Here is how she did it…. Happy-go-lucky character It was not easy for us foreigners to live together under the same roof with a local Chinese. We have different points of view and we are used to different ways of living. The initial period of adjustment however was easier than we imagined because Liu Ahyi was always respectful of our decisions. She also has a very cheerful personality and never really took to heart when we communicated to her how we like things done. She is also very flexible with her leave days because she knows that we are new parents. She even came home early to check on us the first time she went on leave because she was afraid that we couldn’t handle the baby! Her sense of duty is really commendable. Trusting her with our baby People say that babies will be able to sense if the caregiver’s intentions are good. Our son Dylan really adores Liu Ahyi. When he sees her, his eyes will light up instantly. She sings, she rhymes and she makes him laugh. She plays with him and is forever patient even during the times when we are not. As compared to babies his age, I can see that Dylan is growing very well intellectually and physically thanks to her guidance. She seems to be able to bring out the potential in him! As a parent, it is not easy to accept someone elses methods in raising your child. But because Liu Ahyi has very high EQ, she knows the right time to say things so that it comes out as a good advice, not as a forceful opinion. So far she has made quite a number of good calls when it comes to the baby. I can also tell that she really loves Dylan. For Christmas, she even got him a cute toy! I don’t think any of my friends’ Ahyis did that so we were very touched. I truly believe that she has Dylan’s best interest at heart, therefore we trust her fully with him. A great chef Liu Ahyi cooks the best Chinese meal. We love her jiaozis! She can dream up of different menus for us to try and we’ve since put on weight because we love her cooking! After 3 months of living with Liu Ahyi, she has become an important member of our family. We are very proud that Liu Ayi is nominated into the Ayi of the Year award, we fully support her and sincerely hope that she will emerge the winner.
